Our 2022 spring intern recaps her Storen Financial experience

Each year Storen Financial hosts multiple interns in many different roles within our organization. Ally joined our team for the spring of 2022. Here’s her story…

Alejandra Ruesga Garcia
Marian University- Indianapolis
Majors: Accounting, Finance, and Spanish

“My name is Alejandra Ruesga and I am currently a Sophomore at Marian University. This spring, I was given the immense opportunity to intern at Storen Financial. During my tax internship I was able to increase my communication and customer service skills. My key responsibilities included assisting clients, sorting/scanning tax forms, entering data into UltraTax, assembling tax returns, and collecting payments from clients. I truly believe that this experience has helped me get an insight about the tax world. Prior to doing this internship, I had very little knowledge about this topic. Now that I have encountered “busy season”, I know what each tax form is used for. In addition, I also know which forms are needed for federal and state purposes. This knowledge will help me with my future studies because now I have some background knowledge with regards to tax.

While working at Storen Financial, I was able to work with lots of great people. Everyone is extremely friendly, kind, helpful, and understanding. In addition, everyone is great at communicating and collaborating with each other in order to reach our deadlines. Furthermore, everyone tries their best to make clients and co-workers feel good and conformable while being at the office.

I would highly recommend this experience to other students because even though this is a fast-pace internship, I was able to learn a lot and meet such incredible people. The biggest piece of advice would be to ask as many questions as you can, because Storen is filled with experienced and knowledgeable people one can learn from.

Overall, I am extremely thankful to everyone that works at Storen Financial because they were the first people who believed in me and gave me the opportunity to keeping growing and expanding my knowledge.”

If you or someone you know is interested in an internship with Storen Financial, please send a resume to Storen@storenfinancial.com or contact us with any questions you have.
