Financial Wellness Specialist
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Financial Wellness Specialist will serve as a Daily Money Manager (DMM) and play a vital role in supporting clients with their day-to-day financial management.
This position blends financial organization, administrative precision, and compassionate client service. In this role, you will help clients stay financially organized, avoid missed payments, reduce risk of fraud, and alleviate financial stress. You’ll work closely with the Financial Wellness Director to support budgeting, basic financial education, and overall financial wellness. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is detail-oriented, highly trustworthy, and passionate about helping others—particularly older adults, busy professionals, or individuals who benefit from financial organization support.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Client Financial Support:
- Manage bill payment processes, including scheduling, tracking due dates, and processing payments
- Organize and maintain financial records, including statements, receipts, and documentation
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial accounts
- Monitor client cash flow and flag unusual activity or discrepancies
- Prepare clear financial summaries, reports, and spreadsheets for internal and client use
Administrative Tasks:
- Maintain accurate client files in compliance with company procedures and privacy standards
- Sort and manage incoming mail (physical and digital), including bills, statements, and tax documents
- Coordinate with external professionals such as CPAs, attorneys, and care managers
- Update client management systems and track deadlines, deliverables, and follow-ups
Client Engagement:
- Communicate with professionalism, patience, and empathy—especially in sensitive or complex situations
- Support clients in building financial awareness through basic budgeting and education
- Contribute to a seamless onboarding experience for new clients
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Alignment with the ethical standards of the American Association of Daily Money Managers (AADMM)
- Experience in bookkeeping, administrative support, financial services, or a related field
- Meticulous attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- High levels of discretion when communicating with, or on behalf of, a client
- High level of integrity and commitment to maintaining strict confidentiality
- Proficiency with financial software (e.g., QuickBooks), spreadsheets, and digital tools
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple client priorities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Daily Money Management or elder-focused financial services
- Experience working with older adults or individuals with cognitive or physical challenges
- Knowledge of personal finance, basic accounting, or bill-pay systems
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Office based position
- May include occasional in-home client visits, depending on client needs
- Some light lifting or transport of documents may be required
BENEFITS AND PAY
Pay:
• $45,000 – $55,000 per year
