If you’ve been notified that your digital tax return documentation is now available in your Storen Financial Client Portal, use these instructions to finalize your return and complete your final action steps.

Basic Overview – How to Finalize Your Digital Tax Return
1. TO SIGN: To sign your digital tax return, you will receive an email from “Storen Financial (signers@e-signlive.com)” with a subject line requesting your signature. In this email, there will be a link to securely complete the digital signature. When you click on this link, it will require you to input a code that will be sent to your mobile phone. Then, you can access and sign your documents.
2. TO REVIEW: Log in to the Storen Financial Client Portal to access your digital return. Locate and review your tax return documentation in the Client Portal (Click “eBinder,” then choose the folder of the year of the tax return, i.e. 2025).

3. TO FINALIZE (IF YOU OWE): Complete the Federal/ State filing instructions in the Action Packet document (located in your Client Portal along with your tax return). For more details…

4. TO PAY STOREN: Submit payment to Storen Financial for the completion and filing of your digital tax return. You will receive an invoice email from “QuickBooks” in order to pay online, or you may call our office to submit payment over the phone (317-852-7000). *Please note: this does NOT include payment for tax owed to the State or Federal.
What is included in the Action Packet?
Your Action Packet is a group of documents that includes everything requiring action from the you and is particularly useful for those that want to mail their estimated payments or payment vouchers for any tax owed. Click on the Action Packet document to view your Storen Financial receipt and Federal/ State filing instructions (located in your Client Portal along with your tax return). These filing instructions need to be completed in order to finalize your return. This document also includes information on how to pay your taxes digitally as well as information and documentation to mail if that is what you prefer. If you need to pay, you’ll see “AMOUNT DUE.” If you will receive a refund, you’ll see “REFUND.” The Action Packet document includes…

- 8879 Form – efile Signature Authorization (copy only)
- Forms required for Storen Financial to submit your tax return electronically (copy only)
- Payment Vouchers (if applicable)

Federal Filing Instructions
This section on your Action Packet recaps the results of your Federal return — whether you need to pay or if you will receive a refund. This will look like:
- Federal Filing Instructions
- YEAR Form 1040: REFUND/AMOUNT DUE of $
- Mailing Instructions if you do not want to pay online (only if you have an amount due).
- Direct Deposit: Account Information (only if you will be receiving a refund)
- We will electronically file your return.
How do I pay the federal taxes that I owe?

- Have the info from your previous year’s return handy to verify your identity.
- Click here to visit the IRS payment website.
- Select “Direct Pay with bank account.”
- Select “Pay individual tax.”
- Select “Make a payment.” This will take you to an IRS page.
- Select “Reason for payment > balance due.”
- Select the option for “Apply payment to > Income Tax-1040.”
- Select “Tax Period for Payment: YEAR.”
- On this page, it will also ask you to verify your identity with your general information.
- Then, verify your identity using the previous year’s return information.
- Input your banking information.
*Note: When making a federal payment for a joint return, you must input the primary taxpayer’s Social Security number. If you do not do this, your primary taxpayer will still receive a notification to make a payment under their Social Security number.
State Filing Instructions
This section on your Action Packet recaps the results of your State return — whether you need to pay or if you will receive a refund. This will look like:
- State Filing Instructions
- YEAR Form 1040: REFUND/AMOUNT DUE of $
- Mailing Instructions if you do not want to pay online (only if you have an amount due).
- Direct Deposit: Account Information (only if you will be receiving a refund)
- We will electronically file your return.
How do I pay the state taxes that I owe (Indiana)?

- Have the info from your previous year’s return handy to verify your identity.
- Click here to visit Indiana’s payment website.
- Please select “Make a payment” (In the middle of the page).
- Select “Non-bill payments.”
- Under this section, select “Bank payment (no fee).”
- Select “Individual.”
- Under ID type, select “SSN” and enter your personal info.
- Select “Payment type > return payment.”
- Input your banking information.
*Note: When making a state payment for a joint return, you must input the primary taxpayer’s Social Security number. If you do not do this, your primary taxpayer will still receive a notification to make a payment under their Social Security number.
