Our 2021 fall intern recaps his Storen Financial experience
Each year Storen Financial hosts multiple interns in many different roles within our organization. Bryce joined our team for the fall of 2021. Here’s his story…
Bryce Miller
IUPUI – Biomedical Informatics
“My name is Bryce Miller and I am currently a Senior at IUPUI coming up on my last semester. I am pursing my BS in Biomedical Informatics (Health Informatics specialization) and a minor in Public Health Administration. Through this internship, I was able to gain ample amounts of knowledge, skills, and experience, which will definitely be helpful for me down the line. Some of my responsibilities and tasks were to build new employee PCs, manage the many different hardware used by Storen, manage and install software for use for our employees or clients, and much more.
These responsibilities allowed me to gain a diverse knowledge and skillset while working with hardware, software, data, troubleshooting issues of many kinds, and communicating with coworkers and superiors. I was able to have daily meetings with my supervisor and was able to attend a few meetings, which is beneficial for my future professional career. Although I was able to gain experience through working, I was also able to see what it means to be a professional and become better at communicating with superiors and coworkers. The work atmosphere at Storen is something that I enjoyed daily as the workplace is so inviting and all of the employees are so nice and so easy to get along with.
For someone going into the IT field, this internship is something that I would recommend for you. The focus of my studies is more on the IT medical field/healthcare side, but this internship allowed me to gain skills and experience that I will be able to use and apply at the next level of my career after college. Completing an internship at Storen was a very rewarding and positive experience for me, and I am very grateful for the experience and things I have learned from it.”
