Small Business and Individual Tax Accountant
We are looking for a self-motivated tax accountant to work with small businesses and individuals. The ideal candidate would be a self-starter with strong attention to detail with a desire to help small business owners grow their businesses, identify and expand their needs, and prepare their tax returns. Must be willing to work with new clients to sell services and monthly plans along with the ability to focus and prepare tax returns in a busy, on-the-go environment.
Meeting with new clients to sell Storen Financial and our services
Preparation of Individual, Business and Trust tax returns.
Preparing and pulling off financial statements from clients to prepare their tax returns.
Meeting and talking frequently with clients to gather information and prepare their returns.
Responding to IRS and state notices for clients
Working with clients for IRS and state resolutions
Continually working to improve processes and the client experience
Payroll processing, bookkeeping and accounting
Keep track of industry trends and changes related to taxes.
Strong work ethic
An outgoing personality with a love for taxes and small businesses
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and notes.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients, customers and the general public.
Ability to read a financial statement and analyze a balance sheet.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to solve practical problems and prepare projections for clients.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, and Excel
Knowledge of Salesforce software and Thomson Reuters software suite of products including
Ultratax, Practice CS and File Cabinet CS is a definite plus.
Experience: At least 3-5 years of previous tax accounting work experience including experience with the public and an understanding of a “Tax Season” work ethic
Education: 4 year college degree a must with a Major in Accounting or Finance
Requirements: Must obtain CPA license or EA credentials within 2 years
Other Position Details:
Salary range: $50,000 – $90,000
