Communications Specialist

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Communications Specialist will oversee all incoming and outgoing sales inquiries, focus on marketing content development, manage assigned marketing related projects, and help educate other team members involved in the marketing and sales process. This person will work directly with the Communications Director in order to facilitate marketing initiatives, execute exceptional client communication and implement processes.

This position requires a highly organized, sales focused, process-driven thinker who can recognize marketing opportunities and bridge the communication gap through educational content. The person who will fill this role will have a “figure it out” mindset.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Sales:

• Manage all incoming and outgoing sales inquiries and communication.
• Facilitate sales conversations from phone, email, and website submissions.
• Coordinate with appropriate team members involved in the sales process in order to bring in new business as well as identify cross-sell opportunities.
• Implement planned sales and marketing initiatives.
• Document and monitor all details of troubleshooting, service requests, sales initiatives, and other client/lead communication in Salesforce (CRM).

Marketing:

• Create regular marketing content to be used for monthly newsletters, website, and educational material.
• Coordinate the email newsletter distribution, including content development and list generation.
• Work with the Communications Director on various marketing projects including, but not limited to, social media, website development, event planning, video editing, graphic design, and community outreach.

Education and Training:

• Manage the adoption of communication process improvements with all team members.
• Train additional team members involved in the customer service experience on correct utilization of approved techniques and communication.
• Develop a written policy documenting the job duties related to this position.

Other:

• Problem-solve, troubleshoot, and suggest process improvements.
• Participate in team meetings and events that support internal consistency, teamwork and create a fun, enjoyable work atmosphere.

• Ability to work extended hours to meet project deadlines.

Education and Background:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or Communication related studies.
• Minimum 3-5 years of professional marketing or communications experience.
• Background with sales experience preferred.
• Experience with the Salesforce CRM tool extremely preferred.
• Experience with marketing tools preferred (Adobe, Constant Contact, WordPress, Social Media, etc.).
• Proficiency in use of MS Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, OneNote) preferred.

Pay:

• $40,000.00 – $50,000.00 per year
• Opportunity for bonus
